Biobanking Resources

Welcome to BBRB’s Biobanking Resources page. We have created this page to provide the biobanking community with access to important resources aimed at facilitating biobanking to promote a better understanding of cancer and disease. In these pages you will find Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various BBRB biobanking initiatives including GTEx and the Biospecimen Pre-analytical Variables (BPV) program as well as our Biospecimen Research Database (BRD). The BRD contains peer-reviewed primary and review articles as well as additional SOPs in the field of human biospecimen science. BBRB works with the research community to standardize biobanking vocabularies so that biospecimen annotations can be understood across studies. You will also find biospecimen science workshop summaries and reports and various template documents pertaining to biorepository and biospecimen science practice. Finally, we have included information on related and international initiatives as well as brochures and educational materials related to biobanking. We hope you will find these resources helpful and encourage you to share them with others.
