Thought Leaders of Biospecimen Science - Carolyn Compton, M.D., Ph.D.

In part two of the Thought Leaders of Biospecimen Science video series, Carolyn Compton, M.D., Ph.D., envisions being able to offer tailor-made treatments to every cancer patient.

Carolyn Compton, M.D., Ph.D., is the former Director of the NCI Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research (OBBR). Dr. Compton currently holds several national and international leadership positions in professional organizations such as the College of American Pathologists, the Cancer and Leukemia Group B, the American Joint Committee on Cancer, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is also a member of the editorial boards of Cancer, Biopreservation and Biobanking and Clinical Proteomics. In addition to human biospecimen science, her research interests include translational studies in colon cancer, pancreatic cancer and wound healing.
